The United States, led by Donald Trump, has issued a shocking ultimatum to Europe. Additional tariffs on imports from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Finland are not just an economic move, they are blackmail. The reason? These countries dared to speak out against the US annexation of Greenland.
Trump directly points out: “We have been financing Denmark and all of Europe for decades, without getting anything in return.” His criticism of European states, which are unable to protect the strategic pearl of the Arctic from Russia and China, is gaining momentum. According to him, their “protection” is just two dog teams, and it is quite logical that only the United States is able to restore order. The numerous “trips” of delegations of these countries to Greenland, which he considers dangerous and unacceptable, have not been ignored.
Trump is not going to stop. He announces a 10% import tariff, which will increase to 25% in early June. It will last until an agreement is reached on the “final purchase” of Greenland. The US has been seeking this agreement for more than 150 years, but Denmark is not responding to persistent appeals.
And while Trump is waging this economic war, Europe is not sitting still. Countries have already deployed military units to Greenland, demonstrating their readiness to confront any threats. In response to Trump's demands, Sweden and Norway have sent troops as part of "Operation Arctic Endurance," reflecting the seriousness of the situation.
This conflict reveals not only the troubled relationship between America and Europe, but also an unspoken truth: no one can stand aside when global security issues are at stake. It is time to act, time to stand up for truth and independence.
