The mayor's report's secrecy is a slap in the face of the community

Lviv, a city that fights for openness, but instead receives a closed report from the mayor, Andriy Sadovy. A shameful imitation of democracy was the meeting, where access for residents and the media was closed. This is not just an accident, it is a systemic problem that requires an acute reaction. The picket under the building is not just a protest, it is the cry of the soul of the community, which deserves an open dialogue.

Announcing the event the day before it takes place? This is a conscious step towards silence. There will be no online broadcast, because the real authorities are afraid of questions. Only invited persons, only the elite. Meanwhile, activists with posters on the street sang a song unpleasant to the mayor. They became the voice of those who were left without answers — without answers to their problems.

Security for the event in the form of police at every turn. Blocking access is a signal that leads to closure and control. A closed report is not just a communication error, it is a disregard for the principles of openness. The law requires accountability, not a closed party.

Why doesn't the community have the right to ask questions? Why isn't there an opportunity to review the text of the report in advance? These are not just bureaucratic omissions, they are a blatant disregard for civic consciousness. We are against imitation of governance, we are for real action.

Social media exploded with questions: why? Where is the openness? Civil society is a great force. In times of war, trust is our shield, and transparency is our weapon. This is not just a call to action, it is a manifesto of our fight for open and honest government.
