Trump for peace or an eternal illusion

US President Donald Trump has not ruled out flying to Ukraine if it becomes a guarantee of peace. He has said that the construction of a peace agreement is more important than his personal appearance. Quite ironic for someone who has never visited the country, neither during his previous term nor now.

Let us recall that his predecessor, Joe Biden, while Trump was avoiding Ukraine, appeared there in February 2023, when the situation was critical. And before that, he visited our country six times as vice president. Look at this contrasting picture: one leader, taking a risk, comes with support, while the other retreats into the shadows.

Yes, President Zelensky reacted radically to Trump's statement, planning a meeting that could become Momentum for important decisions. Will they make a real decision, or will this remain another repetition of words about peace that are not implemented?

It is worth noting that Trump spoke with Vladimir Putin before his meeting with the Ukrainian president. Is he ready for a real compromise? And does he know the price that thousands of human lives are paying here in Ukraine?

As the world struggles to find a balance between truth and illusion, politicians are once again demonstrating apparent resolve and willingness to “help.” Will these actions really matter, or just another eavesdropped discussion behind closed doors? Only time will tell.
