The US is preparing to put on trial all the crew members of the Marinera tanker seized by the US military on January 7. Washington has ignored the Kremlin's demands to return the Russian citizens trapped in this international game.
The crew of the Bella1 tanker, also known as the Marinera, will now face criminal charges for violating federal law and are scheduled to be extradited to the United States to face trial for their actions.
“A court order has been issued for the ship’s crew – meaning they are now subject to prosecution for any violations and will be extradited to the United States if necessary,” Levitt proclaims, like a prosecutor who knows no mercy.
It looks like the game is just beginning. Reuters previously reported that the US had seized a Venezuelan-bound oil tanker after a lengthy pursuit in the Atlantic Ocean. The Bella1, which had been converted to the Russian-flagged Marinera, was targeted by a British-backed amphibious assault.
But this is not the only case - in the Caribbean Sea, the US detained another vessel from the Russian "shadow fleet" - the tanker Sophia. Here, against the backdrop of geopolitical struggle, the team is playing a game of survival, and the blood of ambitious plans is flowing into the river water.
In Russia, after this resonance, real hysteria broke out. The Kremlin accuses the US of violating international law, declares a threat to the security of the captured vessel. The Russian Foreign Ministry demands the return of Russian citizens on board the tanker - the courage to take revenge on the enemy turns into attempts to call for dialogue.
The Russian State Duma is resolute. They warn that a “military response” is just around the corner. Now it is even worth considering the possibility of “torpedoing” American warships. The inflexibility of threats reveals a chain of rumors and excitement that develops with each new step taken by both sides.
All stages of the new war are a game on the edge. Truth and responsibility are tormented in the face of imitation and falsehood. The strength of our actions lies not in the strength of the armed forces, but in the determination to stand up to a system that seeks to destroy all life in its path.
