There is no place for corrupt people in our country. The Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office exposed systemic abuses and proved the guilt of Igor Greshchuk, the former director of one of the divisions of the State Reserve Agency of Ukraine. The truth was shed light on the judicial system, which revealed how the official demanded and received bribes from entrepreneurs in Khodoriv. This is not just a "tribute" - it is 70 hryvnias per square meter of warehouse space and $ 10 per ton of mineral fertilizers. Greshchuk did not hesitate to promise the businessman that he would remove artificial obstacles from their path if he was paid. The demands were repeated again and again.
On October 7, 2022, the hero of our time was detained at a gas station when he received 200 thousand hryvnias, but everything was under the control of law enforcement officers. Greshchuk, like a true actor, claimed at the meeting that the money was allegedly demanded by distant "smugglers" from Kyiv, and that the case was a provocation by the tenant himself, who was afraid of being exposed.
The court, however, turned out to be uncompromising: 6 years behind bars and confiscation of property. This is the price for abuse of power! The court also banned him from holding public office for the next two years. Greshchuk, as a person who manipulated trust, will now be left without a position. Historically, in January 2022, he concluded contracts with a private company for the lease of storage facilities, but behind them were hidden demands for monthly "kickbacks". This is already over 200 thousand hryvnias per month!
A new era began with the October detention. The pre-trial investigation has become a real fight for the truth, and our independence draws strength from every victory over corruption.
