Law enforcement officers detained a 23-year-old Kyiv resident who was brazenly blackmailing the artist. He demanded money not to share confidential information, threatening to reveal personal materials that could compromise her. The guy decided to play with fire, but ran into a wall of trouble. Olena Topola could no longer remain silent. She voiced everything she had experienced.
On January 10, these threats began. Manipulation, extortion of money, pressure on loved ones – all this became a reality for the singer. In her hands is the evidence base, and in the world – the intimate, what the aggressors were thinking about has already spread. But Olena not only reacted – she became a symbol of resistance. Her dignity, her body – is not a commodity for someone else’s enrichment.
The singer managed to mobilize law enforcement agencies. The arrest was made thanks to the operatives of the National Police's Special Investigation Unit and investigators of the Kyiv region, who left no chance for the attacker. Suspicion has been announced, the preventive measure is still in the process of being adopted. The main thing is that the system has started its movement. In a country where irresponsibility interferes, we must resist and defend our rights.
But now the main thing is not to stop. Extortion is not just one case. Today, not one person, but a whole gang was detained – 13 people in three regions of Ukraine. Extortion of large sums of money, blackmail, violence and even kidnapping – we are against this. And Olena Topolya, who was not afraid to raise her voice, is one of those who will not leave it without consequences.
