Trump is reaching out to Ukraine, but is he really serious? At a press conference with Volodymyr Zelensky, he dropped the idea of speaking before the Ukrainian parliament. At first, one can hear hesitation in his words: “It’s not necessary to go, but I would like to conclude an agreement.” However, then he mentions that he is ready to act if it brings benefits: “I propose to speak. I don’t know if it will help, but I can try.” And here, like lightning, Zelensky appears, inviting Trump to Ukraine. Let’s make a map: “If it can save thousands of lives, I’m ready.”.
But is this enough? The negotiations in Florida lasted more than two hours. Success or imitation? They agreed on all points of the peace plan, but there are still many problems, including the Donbas issue. Russia demands control over the territory without a fight and will try to seize even more territory. Trump emphasizes without a shadow of a doubt that Russia will “help” Ukraine, opening up opportunities for the restoration of the Zaporizhzhia NPP and trade in energy resources at “very low” prices. Is this mercy on the part of the aggressor?
We hear again about saviors who not only bring us freedom, but also profit from the onslaught of consequences. Trump calls for action, for decisive steps, but will he take them? We must speak out against irresponsibility. Against this system of imitation of truth, regretting that behind the backs of diplomacy there is no peaceful solution. It is time to say “enough”. It is time to turn words into action.
