Moscow is unlikely to break through in peace talks, because Putin’s ambitions leave no room for serious compromise. His maximalist territorial demands are not just a whimsical idea, but a dead end in which Russia, driven mad by financial burdens, finds itself. The financial crisis could lead to a deficit of 1.2 trillion rubles. And here, in Miami, Kirill Dmitriev is immersed in meetings with American officials, but the chances of salvation from armed conflict are slim.

Just look at the irreversibility of the territorial issue! Ukraine will not back down, no matter how much the Kremlin wants it. The demand to withdraw troops from Donbas will meet with a wall of resistance. And the US? Only loud words about demilitarized zones and new promises are nothing more than empty phrases.

Putin wants Kyiv to give in, while he himself claims his rights to all four regions, without even fully taking possession of them. In the end, it is a simple game of timing, but during the last round of negotiations in Abu Dhabi, everything shook up - technical details could not be avoided, and there is no talk of real peace.

And European diplomats, including the German foreign minister, are making harsh assessments. The real obstacle has become apparent: the Kremlin's determination to keep the situation on the brink of madness. Difficult questions remain unresolved, and progress is just a smokescreen hiding a reality without courage and decisive action.

There is no need to entertain illusions about diplomacy teetering on the edge of the abyss. The next round of negotiations is on stolen land, where three issues remain unresolved while calling themselves peace. This is not peace. This is just another attempt to flirt with the truth, which is drowning in imitation. Action against irresponsibility - this is what should become a guideline.
