The green light for the export of weapons and military equipment from the beginning of the year to December is only 8.4 billion euros. Let us remind you! In 2024, we talked about a record amount of 13.33 billion, and last year - 12.15 billion. Now, according to dpa, the figures are rapidly declining. Thomas Steffen's letter indicates a drop in exports to Ukraine to 1.14 billion - a penny compared to 8.15 billion last year.
The Ministry explains that the current support for Ukraine is based on old permits. Money is trickling down to long-term projects, which is not always a guarantee of instant licenses. But! Licenses are not needed everywhere, they say, and Ukraine is gradually introducing its own weapons production. Words will not relax you!
Since the change of power, the details of supplies to Ukraine have become a secret - the new government no longer wants to reveal the cards. The CDU/CSU and SPD rulers are deliberately obscuring the realities of military aid so that the Russian aggressors do not receive any information. Under the new government, licenses for 5.39 billion euros have already been issued. And this is ahead of all importing countries! Turkey, which ranks second with 726 million, has displaced Ukraine, which is now in third place with 483 million.
The controversial Turkey is receiving weapons despite its record on human rights, and this is another example of hypocrisy. After the 2016 invasion of Syria, licenses were reduced to thousands, but now they have been issued at a rate of over 250 million per year under the previous government. And what do we see? In July, the new coalition finally cleared the way for Eurofighter exports, but only after halting their exports to Turkey in April.
Germans – for sending troops to Ukraine. But what support if the Ukrainian army is once again stuck in the blackness of November 9th? Enough of the imitations! Time to act, time to be real!
