The Slidstvo.Info agency witnessed the collapse of the system: since the beginning of the Great War, law enforcement officers have filed 94 criminal cases with the court, covering up the unpleasant truth about the shelter in Kyiv. And we, as the public, have the right to know!
The special project "Investigations.Info" "404: Shelter Not Found" reveals invisible threads of abuse. These are not just technical failures; these are tenders where the winners are known in advance, purchases with inflated prices, and blatant disregard for the terms of the competitions. The blood of people who died near closed shelters calls us to action! This is irresponsibility when shelters turn into deadly traps.
Take, for example, the case of a kindergarten in the Shevchenkivskyi district. After the «renovation», the shelter began to sink into the ground, becoming a threat to the children. The Department of Education, by concluding contracts for over 3 million hryvnias, simply destroyed hopes for safety. The acts of completed work, signed on paper, are just the reality of illusions!
Technical supervision, which was supposed to check the quality, turned out to be a formality: the repairs were not carried out, and the decisions had already been made. And again we are faced with corruption, where budget funds are lost in the shadow of incompetence. The court began considering the case of embezzlement in December 2023, and the verdict is not yet in sight. This is not «common practice» for us, this is a direct crackdown on the truth!
Compensation for overpayments, the only thing that remains in memory - 27.3 million hryvnias from the agreed 30 cases, burden the system so much that it seems that the corrupt themselves are going free. The most high-profile case is 4.4 million hryvnias for incomprehensible charging stations in the Obolon district. Who will be held accountable for this unprecedented irresponsibility?
The only punishment that died in all this chaos was the acquittal of the director of the boarding school, whose stolen 80 thousand hryvnias for the arrangement of the shelter became the limit beyond which the truth turned into a pitiful imitation. The trials are still ongoing, but we know: this is a fight for the truth, and we will never remain silent!
