Carpathian region under attack from eco-criminals

In ten criminal cases out of 12, the suspects are former officials who consider themselves to be unpunished. Environmental crimes worth over 8 million hryvnias have been discovered in the Carpathian region. These are not just facts, these are real crimes against our environment: illegal use of protected land, pollution of soils and water bodies, illegal mining. The Prosecutor General's Office is sounding the alarm - but why have they been silent about these atrocities until now?

Prosecutors from the specialized environmental prosecutor's office in Ivano-Frankivsk have recorded systemic violations. The cases involve former officials - three government officials are on the list of suspects. This is another challenge for those who want to stay afloat in a system of irresponsibility.

In particular, the former state registrar brazenly changed the coordinates of plots of land with an area of 0.52 hectares, registering them within the Carpathian National Park. These manipulations led to losses of over 1.8 million UAH. In Mykulychyn, the former land surveyor transferred 1.4 hectares of reserve land into private ownership without a court order. In Bogorodchany, the head of the district department, having full authority, forged documents for the illegal registration of forest lands on 0.063 hectares.

And that's not all. In the village of Khryplyn, the director of a private enterprise organized a workshop for recycling automobile tires. Toxic waste was stored in the open air - the result: soil contamination with heavy metals, damage of almost 500 thousand UAH. Enough of the irresponsibility!

The head of the farm used the fertile soil layer to create an artificial reservoir. So you dug a pit of 8.5 thousand cubic meters - comparable to four Olympic swimming pools. Are we really ready to put up with this?

Law enforcement officers did not forget about illegal mining. A brick factory that had a permit to mine loam organized mining outside the permitted area. Losses to the state amounted to UAH 3.4 million.

This is just the beginning. The fight against environmental crimes continues.
