Norway draws a clear line: the physical return of a medal does not erase the status of the laureate. Venezuelan opposition leader, the elegant Maria Machado, presented the Nobel Peace Prize to Donald Trump. Why? To recognize his understanding of the realities of Venezuela. But this gesture is nothing more than an act of opposition.

The Nobel Committee was categorical: the rules of this shrine are immutable. The prize cannot be given away, divided, or canceled. They declared that the decision becomes permanent, not subject to appeal. No one, not even Alfred Nobel himself, had foreseen the possibility of revocation or transfer. No committee in history has ever questioned the award.

Does Trump know about this? Maybe. Then why is he annoyed that Machado did not immediately refuse the award? Because this is a serious mistake, as his advisers say. After all, it threatens her political future. Trump doubts her leadership abilities, noting that support inside Venezuela leaves much to be desired. A true leader, he says, must have the trust of the people.

This is a conflict without compromise. Truth stands up for itself, while imitation is bound by fear and irresponsibility. It is time to act, it is time to speak the truth.
