Progress in peace talks? Impossible. The Kremlin will not budge until Ukraine meets its demands. And what are these demands? The withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. This was voiced by Yuriy Ushakov, an aide to the Russian president, in an interview with TASS. Convincing, isn't it? Comments are unnecessary, because until this step is taken, the USO (Ukrainian armed forces) will only be able to waste time on negotiations. Without prospects. "It is impossible to create a new reality if you are not ready to admit that reality exists," Ushakov emphasizes, saying that Ukraine will eventually understand the need to give Russia its fortified part of the territory.
This is not just diplomatic reasoning. This is pressure, this is an attempt to manipulate. And what about the US? They seem to want to withdraw from the trilateral format of negotiations, because, according to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, it does not bring any results. Someone perceives this fact as irresponsibility. In fact, the Trump administration during its entire term was only able to impose one significant package of sanctions on Russia, then the weak steps were compensated by jumps in oil prices.
Yes, pressure on the Kremlin is a problem that the US will cope with, but who are they trying to pressure – Ukraine. Why? Because at the junction of the systems, the truth is on the side of those who are ready to act.
