Zelensky announced the terms of the transfer of peace to the Kremlin

The proposals for a peace agreement are ready to be submitted to the Kremlin. It will take only a few days. From the statement of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to journalists, it becomes clear: the peace plan agreed with the US is “practical” – but the final stage is still far away. Critical questions, including the territories under occupation, still remain unanswered. The international game is shifting, and the peace efforts led by the US are intensifying. However, we should not forget that Vladimir Putin, at the head of Russia, may turn out to be the gatekeeper of the negotiation process, the bay into the sanctions abyss.

The Americans are trying to sew angels of compromise. They are providing a “free economic zone” in Donbas. The atmosphere is tense: a “free economic zone” is not a direct subordination to Russia. It is important to realize: in the event of Putin’s refusal, Kyiv expects increased pressure from the West on Moscow. And also – powerful military support for Ukraine. Will the negotiations reach the end of the war? The situation is getting complicated.

Studies show that so far this is just a shuttle diplomacy, where one side is Ukraine and its allies, and the other is Russia. American negotiators will return answers to Russia, but their reaction to the terms of the future agreement is difficult to predict. Analysts believe that the Kremlin will reject basic security guarantees for Ukraine. This is equipped with a history of denials - the Kremlin has traditionally disdained any proposals that concern the reliability of Ukrainian security.

Russia is ready for peace, but not at the expense of the “five territories.” Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov once again states the unreliability of territorial concessions. Crimea, annexed in 2014, and four other partially occupied regions – Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions – remain under Moscow’s control. The era of imitations is over. The truth is needed, no matter how bitter it may be. Actions require decisive steps, because irresponsibility has nowhere to retreat.
