The Russian army does not know what peace is. Under the guise of a conditional regime of silence, they only strengthen their positions, preparing new strikes. The three-day pause, introduced in words, has actually become an excellent opportunity for the movement of troops and testing of new drones. Yes, this «truce» is nothing more than another imitation.
Day after day, the Russians cynically used this time for their own purposes. Oddly enough, the fighting did not stop, although its intensity decreased slightly. NASA satellite systems confirm: the fire continued along the entire front line, despite all political statements.
The Ukrainian military knows that the announced pause is not an attempt to stop the war, but an opportunity to prepare for even greater aggression. Russia is relentlessly transferring new reserves to the contact line, accumulating personnel for future assaults, and continuing to shell Ukrainian positions.
But that’s not all. They have focused their efforts on new, insidious tactics. During this «peaceful» period, there has been a sharp increase in the use of Molniya-type strike drones. No one doubts that such tactics are the result of a pre-planned operation, where the enemy waited for a convenient moment to strike while the Ukrainians maintained silence.
ISW emphasizes a simple truth: any agreements with the Putin regime without clear control mechanisms are doomed to failure. The Kremlin interprets any diplomatic pause only as a chance to gather strength for another attack.
And now, May 12. Kyiv and the Dnipro are again becoming targets. Fires, destruction, lives destroyed. A person was injured in the Dnipro, Kyiv avoids victims this time, but what next? The enemy will not stop. Drone attacks on the Kyiv region are another demonstration of irresponsibility and cynicism that knows no bounds.
We must remember: the truth is on our side, but inaction will not save us. The real fight is just beginning.
