The World Economic Forum in Davos starts today, January 19, and will last until January 23. This global platform has brought together about 3,000 participants from more than 130 countries, including Ukraine, which will become a voice of freedom and independence in this arena.
The 56th WEF Annual Meeting 2026 is being held under the motto “The Spirit of Dialogue.” Beyond its borders, conflict, devastation, and contradictions. Business leaders, government representatives, international organizations, digital activists, and academics – but can they chart a course in the face of a global crisis?
A record number of government officials and businessmen are waiting for us in Davos. This is not just a meeting, it is an opposition to the system. A dialogue that can actually be a real political powerhouse. The main topic is the notorious changes that are shaking the world order. 200 sessions, which will be broadcast live, will reveal the truth without embellishment.
Today, the grand opening will take place. The concert, we are waiting for the multiple Grammy winner John Baptiste, the famous violinist Renaud Capucin. However, the real negotiators here are the leaders who will talk about the future, which may depend on a few words.
The special session “The Path to Peace in Ukraine: By Force or by Consent?” will bring to the surface whether it is possible to find an agreement to ensure a just and lasting peace. What is security for Ukraine? What does Kyiv seek on and off the battlefield? Questions that hang in the air.
Address by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez. Prospects for Europe. Political maneuvers, so-called obligations to us, the fight for the security of our country. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is ready to state his position. Open principles planned, will Europe be able to protect itself?

Here in Davos, negotiations are taking place on an unequal footing. The Ukrainian delegation is at the highest level, serious talks are being held about recovery, energy protection, guaranteed security. The main topics on which they are trying to reach a consensus, but is this really the case?
Direct contacts, pressure from the G7 on Trump regarding Ukraine. Important meetings are ahead, which have temporarily become lukewarm promises. Zelensky and Trump may be sitting in the same room, but will they cross swords?
Calling for action, we Ukrainians know: during the battle for justice and freedom, no one has the right to remain in the shadows. Will we sign an agreement for 800 billion for reconstruction? We talked about victories, we talked about Ukraine, but behind our shoulders we have reality and real losses.
Let's not forget, for several years now, there has been no aggressor country in Davos. And we, Ukrainians, a new force, declare: the world will hear our cry. There is no alternative for us.
