His message is clear: agreements must be made “before it is too late.” For decades, this country has paid Cuba for security services provided by Cuban “security services” led by personal guards for Maduro and Chavez. But that will not happen anymore. The time for gangster schemes is over. Trump emphasizes: “Venezuela no longer needs protection from the point of view of the street. The United States of America is ready to become its real shield.” Against the old order that terrorized the country, he puts the power of the American army – “the most powerful armed forces in the world.” No support for Cuba! Zero!
Trump, watching the fall of the communist dictatorship in Cuba, makes reposts that indicate a change in the winds: one comment suggests appointing US Secretary of State Marco Rubio as president of Cuba, because this Cuban descendant knows the truth about the system from the inside.
Continuing his anti-communist campaign, Trump recalls the recent events when American special forces used unknown weapons against Venezuelan forces. The attack, which killed about 100 people, signaled an imminent change. Cuba has already felt another blow: its military and intelligence officers have become victims of this scenario.
Time is no longer on the side of the old order – we must act, not wait for the inevitable collapse. And here it is, a new challenge for Venezuela and Cuba: act, or remain remnants of the past!
