NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has raised a serious issue that cannot be ignored: the Alliance's defense spending should be at the level of 5% of GDP. Only in this way can we avoid the catastrophe of Russia overtaking us in military power. If we do not fulfill this condition, we risk waking up in a world where the Kremlin has already become stronger than NATO.
Rutte is not just talking – he is warning. According to him, failure to meet this financial commitment will only increase Russia's influence. Understandably, since Donald Trump called for more spending at the Hague summit, NATO has become more productive than ever, but this is no reason to rest on our laurels. Our strength is now, but if we do not implement the decisions approved in The Hague, the future looks promising not for us, but for the enemy.
Even Vladimir Putin’s insane ambitions to seize the “historical lands” of Ukraine cannot leave us indifferent. All these statements are absurd. They reveal the true face of imperial ambitions. Putin has already sacrificed 1.1 million Russians on the altar of his illusions. Colossal losses for what? For the sake of a great empire that exists only in his mind?
These words of Rutte are not just a statement. They are a warning. A warning to all Alliance countries: we have no right to give up. Rutte is sure: NATO is Russia's next target. And these are not just words. The situation in Ukraine shows that we are on the edge. And how is the Kremlin reacting to this? With hysteria, threats. Russia is already playing the game with the stakes set.
European countries seem to have forgotten the consequences of World War II. They must be able to read between the lines, and not close their eyes to the obvious. NATO is capable of withstanding, but we must act. Against the system and lies. For truth and independence. This is not the time for compromise. Act or lose.
