Ukraine openly calls on all African states to be vigilant, to uncover and counteract attempts to recruit their citizens.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is responding to the shameful information that two Botswana citizens may become victims of the Kremlin's bloody recruitment machine. The statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, posted on Facebook, clearly states that this process is part of the systemic policy of the Russian leadership, which involves foreigners in its ruthless war.
This vacuum approach has been observed since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, when Russia actively recruits people, promising honest jobs or training. These are not isolated crimes. These are organized tactics implemented by the Russian state apparatus as part of their aggressive intentions against Ukraine. This is a gross violation of UN principles, contempt for international humanitarian law and basic human rights.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine supports the responsible step of the Botswana government, which is actively verifying the facts and standing up for the protection of its citizens from insidious recruitment schemes.
We know that South African police have arrested four people who were organizing kidnappings for the Russian army. And that's just the beginning. Another alleged recruiter was recently arrested who was insidiously trying to drag people into this war.
This story is a story of struggle, where truth confronts deception, action constructs the urge for independence, and irresponsibility and illusion together collapse in the face of factual reality. Welcome, but be careful: the system is trying to subjugate you. Time to act!
